แบรนด์นี้เริ่มที่โตเกียวในปี 2005 โดย Masako Noguchi และ Takuma Sasaki ชื่อเดิมที่หลายคนคุ้นคือ NOMA t.d. Noguchi เรียนสิ่งทอที่ Chelsea College of Arts ลอนดอน และทฤษฎีการออกแบบที่ Musashino Art University ก่อนไปทำงานออกแบบลายผ้าให้แบรนด์ต่างๆ ในนิวยอร์ก ส่วน Sasaki มาจากอีกฝั่งของธุรกิจ เคยเปิดร้านของตัวเองในโตเกียวและทำงานเป็นบายเออร์ที่วิ่งหาของระหว่างปารีส ลอนดอน นิวยอร์ก คำที่ทั้งคู่ใช้อธิบายงานตัวเองคือ "Between Line and Pattern" ระหว่างเส้นที่ลากกับลายที่เกิดขึ้น

A Length of Cloth, Before It Knows What It Will Become

Masako Noguchi does not start with a garment. She starts by drawing on blank cloth, then waits to see where that cloth wants to go. Some of it becomes a jacket. Some becomes a scarf. Some never becomes clothing at all, ending up on a wall or in an exhibition instead.

That way of working is what leads to NÒMARHYTHM TEXTILE Fall/Winter 2026.

The label began in Tokyo in 2005, founded by Masako Noguchi and Takuma Sasaki, and for years it was known as NOMA t.d. Noguchi studied textiles at Chelsea College of Arts in London and design theory at Musashino Art University, then designed prints for fashion houses in New York. Sasaki came from the other side of the business: he ran his own shop in Tokyo and worked as a buyer between Paris, London and New York. The phrase they use for their own work is "Between Line and Pattern", the space between the mark you draw and the pattern it turns into.

FW26 does not reset. Bandana, camo flower, leopard: these are motifs the studio has been retelling for years. This season simply changes the cloth, the colour, the placement. Noguchi has said that textile has no limit, that it does not have to be fashion, that it can be art or interiors or almost anything. That belief is why nothing here gets discarded just because a season ended. Some embroidery comes from artisans in India, some of the dyeing and cutting stays in Japan, chosen by who does it best rather than by which country reads better on a label.

A good pattern does not need replacing every season. It only needs retelling: that is the heart of this collection.

There is also another chapter with NEEDLES, a partnership that returns every season. This time it runs through Rebuild by Needles, the line that takes garments apart and stitches them back together, here as a long dress built from BDU parts. Two labels that treat old material as raw stock rather than as something expired.

Clothes made from patterns their makers have not tired of tend to be clothes their wearers do not tire of either.
