Clothes that shouldn't share a closet

A collegiate blazer with sweatpants. A jacquard overcoat with balloon trousers. Laid out on a table, they look like they escaped from different closets, different decades, different stories.

Worn together, they hold. That is how Needles Fall/Winter 2026 thinks.

Needles began in Tokyo in 1997, from Keizo Shimizu, who had founded Nepenthes back in 1988 to import American clothing into Japan. Nearly a decade in, he felt something was still missing, so he built his own label. Shimizu rarely designs from zero. He takes what already exists: seventies warm-up suits, western shirts, secondhand flannel, and re-edits them into something that never existed before. Even the butterfly on the chest is borrowed: Steve McQueen's tattoo in Papillon.

FW26 follows the same method and pushes it harder. The clashes are deliberate this season: animal print against patchwork fleece, pinstripe suiting against leather varsity, house-woven jacquard against poly twill cut like workwear. Shimizu isn't asking what matches. He's asking why anything has to. What lands now is the season's first drop.

Things that don't belong together can still be worn together. That is the centre of this collection.

Needles isn't asking you to agree. Just pick two things that shouldn't work, and walk out the door.
