Liquem ยอดนิยม ต่อยอดความสำเร็จสู่ Pop-up Event

คำที่ Liquem ใช้บรรยายแหวนของตัวเองคือ toy-like texture เรซินอวบๆ ที่มีกลิตเตอร์เม็ดเล็กๆ อยู่ข้างใน ดูเหมือนของเล่นจริงๆ แต่พอใส่แล้วกลับไม่ได้ดูเด็ก มันดูเหมือนคนใส่ตั้งใจเลือกมา

ความย้อนแย้งตรงนี้คือสิ่งที่ทำให้คนหยุดดู Liquem ตั้งแต่วันแรกที่แบรนด์มาตั้ง pop up ที่ Onion

Liquem เริ่มต้นที่ญี่ปุ่นในเดือนมิถุนายน 2017 ชื่อแบรนด์เป็นคำที่ประดิษฐ์ขึ้นจาก Liquid กับ Gem มาจากภาพของค็อกเทลในจินตนาการที่มีอัญมณีละลายอยู่ข้างใน เครื่องดื่มหวานๆ ที่ดื่มแล้วอารมณ์ดีขึ้น และถ้ามันคือค็อกเทล ของที่เสียบอยู่บนขอบแก้วก็คือเชอร์รี่ นั่นคือที่มาของต่างหูเชอร์รี่ที่กลายเป็นไอเท็มซิกเนเจอร์ของแบรนด์

อีกเรื่องที่ทำให้ Liquem ต่างจากแบรนด์เครื่องประดับทั่วไปคือ clip on ของส่วนใหญ่ทำมาทั้งแบบเจาะและแบบหนีบ คนที่ไม่ได้เจาะหูจึงใส่ได้เท่ากัน ทุกชิ้นที่ใช้ชื่อ Liquem ออกแบบและผลิตขึ้นเองทั้งหมด หน้าร้านหลักอยู่ที่ Laforet Harajuku โตเกียว

Onion เป็นที่แรกในประเทศไทยที่พา Liquem เข้ามาจัด pop up และผลตอบรับดีเกินกว่าที่ตั้งไว้ ของที่กลับเข้ามาล็อตนี้จึงเป็นผลโดยตรงจากครั้งนั้น นั่นคือ Edit Play Cherry Earrings สามสี ซึ่งในนั้นมีสองสีที่ผลิตให้ Onion โดยเฉพาะ

เชอร์รี่ของ Liquem ไม่ได้เป็นแค่ผลไม้ มันคือของที่เสียบอยู่บนขอบแก้ว และนั่นคือทั้งแบรนด์ย่อลงมาในชิ้นเดียว

Edit Play คือเส้นที่เก็บรายละเอียดมากที่สุด ก้านทอดยาว ปมผูกที่ทำออกมาคมชัด และผิวที่ผ่านการเคลือบสีแบบอบ ทำให้มันไม่ใช่เชอร์รี่การ์ตูน แต่เป็นเชอร์รี่ที่มีโครงสร้าง

ของที่ดูเหมือนเล่นๆ มักเป็นของที่คนทำจริงจังกับมันที่สุด

Toy-Like, and Somehow Elegant

The phrase Liquem uses for its own rings is toy-like texture. Plump resin with tiny glitter suspended inside. It really does look like a toy. Then you put it on and it does not read as childish at all. It reads as a choice.

That contradiction is what stopped people from the first day of the Liquem pop-up at Onion.

Liquem began in Japan in June 2017. The name is a coined word, Liquid plus Gem, taken from an imaginary cocktail with gemstones melted into it, a sweet drink that lifts your mood. And if it is a cocktail, the thing perched on the rim is a cherry. That is where the cherry earring came from, and it has been the brand's signature ever since.

The other thing that separates Liquem from most jewellery brands is the clip-on. Most pieces are made in both pierced and clip versions, so anyone can wear them whether or not they have piercings. Everything carrying the Liquem name is designed and produced in-house, and the main store is in Laforet Harajuku, Tokyo.

Onion ran the brand's first pop-up in Thailand, and the response ran past what we had planned for. The lot now back on the shelf is a direct result of that: Edit Play Cherry Earrings in three colours, two of them produced for Onion alone.

The Liquem cherry is not just fruit. It is the thing on the rim of the glass, which is the whole brand in one piece.

Edit Play is the most detailed line the brand makes: a long stem, a knot rendered precisely, and a baked-on paint finish. Not a cartoon cherry. A cherry with structure.

Things that look like play are usually the things somebody took most seriously.
