This piece is a modern update of a 1930s U.S. Navy utility jacket, reinterpreted through Unlikely’s unique approach to sizing and balance. Compared to the original, the body length is slightly extended, the collar is made more compact, and the proportions of the body width and shoulders have been carefully refined.

It is based on a particularly rare short-length model among U.S. Navy denim jackets, with white contrast stitching faithfully retained from the original.

While urea buttons were used at the time, this version features specially made horn buttons created exclusively for this model.

The fabric is a light-weight (10oz) nep denim, similar to what was used by the U.S. military. The rough nep texture—originally a result of material shortages that forced simplified production processes—is intentionally recreated here. Based on vintage samples, the fading and natural wear patterns have been carefully reproduced.
