ลองยืนอ่านป้ายชื่อรุ่นของ and wander ที่ Onion ทีละตัว Octa, PERTEX SHIELD, Dyneema, Ny Taffeta, High Loft Fleece สิ่งที่มาก่อนในชื่อรุ่นเกือบทุกตัวไม่ใช่ทรงเสื้อ แต่เป็นชื่อผ้า เพราะกับเสื้อผ้าแบบนี้ ผ้าคือการตัดสินใจที่ใหญ่ที่สุด ที่เหลือคือการตามให้ถูก

and wander คิดแบบนี้มาตั้งแต่ซีซั่นแรกในปี 2011 และคอลเลคชัน Fall/Winter 2026 ก็ยังเดินอยู่บนทางเดิม

แบรนด์เปิดตัวในปี 2011 โดย Keita Ikeuchi กับ Mihoko Mori สองคนนี้ไม่ได้มาจากวงการเอาท์ดอร์ Ikeuchi จบจาก Tama Art University แล้วอยู่ทีมออกแบบของ ISSEY MIYAKE MEN ส่วน Mori จบ Esmod Japon Tokyo แล้วอยู่ทีมออกแบบของ ISSEY MIYAKE เหมือนกัน ชื่อแบรนด์มาจากคำว่า wander ที่หมายถึงการเดินไปเรื่อยๆ โดยไม่มีจุดหมาย เพราะทั้งคู่อยากให้คนสนุกกับการออกไปข้างนอกแบบสบายๆ ไม่ใช่เฉพาะคนที่ตั้งใจพิชิตยอดเขา ทั้งคู่เคยพูดถึงกฎการ layering ของเอาท์ดอร์ว่าถ้าเล่นตามกฎทั้งหมดก็ไม่สนุก เลยพยายามทำของที่หลุดกรอบไปหน่อยอยู่เสมอ

โจทย์ของ Fall/Winter 2026 คือชุดเสื้อผ้าที่ย้ายตัวเองไปมาระหว่างอากาศบนเขากับการใช้ชีวิตในเมืองได้โดยไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนชุด ซีซั่นนี้แบรนด์เดินด้วยผ้าเป็นหลัก เชลล์ตระกูล PERTEX, ดาวน์, ฟลีซลาย grid, ไนลอน Cordura ในกระเป๋า และรองเท้าที่ทำร่วมกับแบรนด์อื่น ของทั้งหมดถูกคิดเป็นระบบ ไม่ใช่คิดเป็นชิ้น

Ikeuchi กับ Mori เคยบอกว่าอยากให้แบรนด์เป็นหน้าต่างบานหนึ่งที่เปิดออกไปหาธรรมชาติ สิบห้าปีผ่านไป หน้าต่างบานนั้นยังเปิดอยู่ และยังไม่เคยตั้งเงื่อนไขว่าใครมีสิทธิ์มองออกไป

Read the and wander labels at Onion one at a time. Octa. PERTEX SHIELD. Dyneema. Ny Taffeta. High Loft Fleece. What comes first in almost every name is not the shape of the garment, it is the cloth. With clothes built this way, the fabric is the biggest decision anyone makes. Everything after it is following that decision correctly.

and wander has worked this way since its first season in 2011, and Fall/Winter 2026 stays on the same road.

The brand launched in 2011 under Keita Ikeuchi and Mihoko Mori, neither of whom came out of the outdoor industry. Ikeuchi graduated from Tama Art University and worked on the ISSEY MIYAKE MEN design team. Mori graduated from Esmod Japon Tokyo and worked on the ISSEY MIYAKE design team. The name comes from the word wander, meaning to roam with no destination, because both of them wanted people to enjoy being outside casually rather than only on a hard push for a summit. On the layering rules of outdoor dressing, they have said that playing strictly by the rules is no fun, so they always try to make something slightly out of place.

The brief for Fall/Winter 2026 is a set of clothes that moves between mountain weather and city life without a change of outfit. The season runs on cloth: PERTEX shells, down, grid fleece, Cordura nylon in the bags, and footwear made with an outside partner. The pieces are designed as a system rather than one at a time.

The first lot at Onion covers all three layers of dressing for a mountain. Outermost is the PERTEX SHIELD rain jacket. In the middle, POLARTEC fleece and a fishtail coat lined in Octa. Below, Ny Taffeta pants whose legs zip off, then a women's cargo skirt and a Dyneema sacoche to finish. Split-yarn ripstop turns up in both the coat and the skirt, which tells you the season really was thought out from the cloth forward.

The jacket that holds up to rain on a mountain and the jacket you can wear into town do not have to be two jackets. That is the brief for this season.

Ikeuchi and Mori once said they wanted the brand to be a window opening onto the outdoors. Fifteen years on, the window is still open, and it has never set conditions on who gets to look through it.
