“Balise,” a French word meaning “signpost,” is the name of this new style, featuring a silhouette and details that bridge the gap between workwear and dresswear, as well as between shirts and blousons. Its versatile proportions are designed to suit a wide range of occasions, serving as a guiding pattern for KANEMASA PHIL.

The fabric features an entirely new interpretation of an ombré check pattern. A striped pattern is first knitted on a 28-gauge jacquard knitting machine, followed by a special vertical printing process to create an ombré check unlike anything seen before. The jacquard structure was meticulously calculated with the post-printing result in mind, with the yarn placement and construction carefully engineered from the outset.

This new-standard fabric combines high stretch with exceptional comfort, a crisp hand, refined luster, and excellent easy-care properties—creating a material that is uniquely KANEMASA PHIL.

For the construction, the details are based on a classic dress shirt, with all seams finished using felled-seam construction and premium mother-of-pearl buttons. At the same time, elements such as the sleeves are designed with the relaxed character of a blouson in mind.

This one-of-a-kind shirt brings together the fabric’s crispness and refined luster with a precisely balanced silhouette, while the material and pattern lend it an inherently dressy character.
