## Take the Difficulty Out, and See What Is Left

The Kolor pieces people remember are usually the ones with something out of place. Two fabrics colliding mid-body. One sleeve that does not match the other. A collar sitting where a collar does not sit. All of it is fun. None of it is what you reach for at seven in the morning without thinking.

Kolor BEACON Fall/Winter 2026 is the side you can reach for at seven in the morning.

BEACON was set up in 2012 and showed its first collection for Spring/Summer 2013, a line Junichi Abe built alongside the main Kolor. The shops that have carried it longest will tell you not to call it a second line: it was never meant as a smaller version of anything. It is where Abe put the ideas that wanted to exist right now, without the careful fabric orchestration the main collection runs on.

In 2026 that reads as clothes that keep Kolor proportions while losing almost every detail that needs explaining. A jacket is a jacket. Trousers are trousers. The interest moves into cloth and colour instead: indigo that fades to whoever wears it, a nylon so light you forget it, reds and bordeaux braver than most Japanese labels risk in winter.

Stripping back like this is not the same as making something cheaper or easier. It takes the thinking out of the wearer's hands and lets the garment work quietly. Whatever still wants to play shows up in the small things, like the plaid and herringbone bags that landed in the same drop.

The first drop at Onion runs on indigo, bordeaux, khaki and red, all of it made in Japan, same as the main collection.
