## Fifteen Minutes, One Stick

Some nights you get home at half past nine, too tired to start anything, not tired enough to sleep. That window is too short to call rest, but long enough to do one thing for yourself.

One stick, 60mm, roughly fifteen minutes of burn. That is the exact size of the moment ICHIKŌ ICHIE set out to fill, and it is the newest brand arriving at Onion for Fall/Winter 2026.

Behind it is Gyokushodo, an Osaka incense house that has been running since 1804. For over two centuries they made incense for other people to sell, never a storefront of their own. In 2020 they finally opened one, at Hankyu Sanbangai, for a plain reason: two hundred years in, they had still never heard directly from the people burning it.

The name is a pun on 一期一会, the tea ceremony phrase meaning one time, one meeting. They swapped 期, the character for time, with 香, the character for fragrance. 一香一会. One fragrance, one meeting.

What we carry is the THINGS series: scents pulled from familiar things, flowers, fruit, tea, spice, all built from natural aromatic woods and essential oils. Not the kind of scent that makes you open a window, but the kind you can burn daily without tiring of it. Each stick is sealed in its own clear sleeve, because incense breathes, absorbing the room and releasing itself. Left loose in a box, the top note fades long before anyone lights it.

> The same scent, on a different day, is never quite the same scent. That is what the name is getting at.

Light one, and see where fifteen minutes takes today.
