## From River to City. When Fishing Gear Becomes Fashion Language.

South2 West8 was built under the Nepenthes umbrella in Japan, drawing from the culture of fishing and outdoor exploration. The brand treats functional gear not as inspiration but as a direct source material, then asks how far that material can go in a city context. SS26 answers that question across a range of pieces designed to work in both environments without adaptation.

The Tenkara Vest is the season’s anchor piece. Tenkara is a traditional Japanese fly-fishing method that strips the tackle down to its minimum. The vest follows the same logic: nylon OX shell, multiple pockets positioned at fishing-functional angles, and a silhouette that carries that logic into daily life without looking like costume. The Fishing Shirt in C/PE broad cloth adds D-rings and flap pockets from the same functional tradition. Worn open over a T-shirt or buttoned for outdoor use, it operates as a two-context garment. The Belted C.S. Pant in cotton ripstop and its short-length counterpart in C/N grosgrain carry the center seam and webbing belt that South2 West8 has used as signatures across seasons.
